農林水産省の研究所がねう祭りの会場で大規模な調査を実施！
地域の未来に向けた新たな一歩
過疎が進む中山間地域、特に鳥取県日野町では、人口減少と高齢化が深刻な問題となっています。しかし、この美しい町の未来を守り続けたいという願いを込め、農林水産省農林水産政策研究所の主催のもと、町の魅力や可能性を探る大規模な調査が先日行われました。

この調査は、地域の「風景」に焦点を当て、住民や町外から訪れる方々がどのような場所に魅力を感じ、何を未来に残したいと考えているかを知るために実施されました。
日野町の魅力と未来を探る調査
今回の調査は、日野町で開催された「ねう祭り」の会場で、農林水産省農林水産政策研究所とリノベーションLab関係メンバー・その他幅広い研究者が130名の町民と来場者にアンケートを実施しました。
この調査の目的は、地域に愛着を持つ関係者や他出子の声を収集し、地域活性化の手がかりを得ることです。
日野町は、豊かな自然と文化を持つものの、人口減少や高齢化による問題に直面しています。
アンケートでは、「未来に残したい日野町の風景」をテーマに、参加者が感じる町の魅力を写真を使って評価する形式で進められました。町の人々がどのような風景に心を動かされ、未来に伝えたいと感じているのかが鮮明に浮かび上がる、非常に興味深い結果が得られています。
今後の展望
今回の調査は、地域だけでなく、日野町外の人々にとっても町の魅力を再認識する機会となりました。地元住民からは「これからもこの町を守り続けたい」という強い声や想い、危機感なども感じられました。
また、農林水産省やリノベーションLabの研究チームの尽力に対しても感謝の言葉も頂戴しました。
調査結果は後日、「日野町リノベーションLab」から公表され、今後の町づくりの方向性や具体的なアクションプランに役立てられる予定です。
調査を通じて明らかになった町民の声や愛着を持つ風景が、これからの日野町の未来にどう活かされていくのか、大きな期待が寄せられています。

A New Step Toward the Future of the Region
In the mountain areas, particularly in Hino Town, Tottori Prefecture, depopulation and aging populations have become serious issues. However, with the desire to continue protecting the future of this beautiful town, a large-scale survey was recently conducted, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Policy Research Institute, to explore the town’s charm and potential.

The survey focused on the “scenery” of the region and was conducted to understand what locations residents and visitors from outside the town find attractive and what they hope to preserve for the future.
Survey Exploring the Charm and Future of Hino Town
This survey was carried out at the venue of the “Neu Festival,” held in Hino Town. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Policy Research Institute, along with members of the Renovation Lab and other broad researchers, conducted a questionnaire with 130 town residents and visitors.
The purpose of the survey was to gather the voices of people who have an attachment to the region, including both locals and those living elsewhere, to find clues for regional revitalization.
Although Hino Town boasts rich natural beauty and culture, it faces challenges due to depopulation and an aging society. In the survey, under the theme “scenery of Hino Town to preserve for the future,” participants were asked to evaluate the town’s appeal using photographs. The results clearly highlighted which landscapes resonate with the people of the town and what they feel should be passed on to future generations—yielding very interesting insights.
Future Prospects
This survey provided not only the locals but also outsiders with an opportunity to re-recognize the charm of Hino Town. Strong voices and sentiments of wanting to protect the town moving forward, as well as a sense of crisis, were felt from the local residents. Gratitude was also expressed toward the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and the Renovation Lab research team for their dedicated efforts.
The results of the survey will be published at a later date by the “Hino Town Renovation Lab” and are expected to inform the direction of future town planning and specific action plans. There is great anticipation regarding how the voices of the town’s residents and the landscapes they cherish, revealed through the survey, will shape the future of Hino Town.

Using this survey as a starting point, Hino Town Renovation Lab will continue working on regional revitalization in collaboration with the community. They will keep striving to further enhance the charm of Hino Town, expand the engaged population, and build a future for the town.

Yesterday’s Survey Review Meeting at the Renovation Lab
Over 130 survey responses were collected, and the flow was smooth, making it a great success.
We are excited to analyze the data from the Tashutsu-shi.
We also experimented with the potential of the Renovation Lab, including BBQ research, watermelon splitting research, and more.
We realized that research can be fun!
